Daily Maintenance for Molds (Blow molding machine)
Purpose: To keep the molds in good working condition, and extend the life span of the molds.
1. Daily check
1.1. Molds opening and closing in position.
1.2. Molds locking in position and tight.
1.3. Stretching rod should be in correct position.
1.4. Lubricant should be done often.
1.5. All screws and bolts should be fixed tightly.
1.6. Check the products, to see if there are defects which are caused by the molds.
1.7. When the molds are off-duty, they should be very well cleaned, dried, lubricated. And the rust proof procedure should be done too.
1.8. Make daily record for the molds. If it needs maintenance or it is in good condition.
2. Monthly check
If the molds have not been used for long time, such as months. Then they should be checked very often. And the maintenance should be done very well too.
2.1. Open the molds, check if there are rust inside the mold. If there is, then the rust should be removed as soon as possible. And after that, the molds should be lubricated by butter to keep it away from rust again.
2.2. Make good and correct record for the molds’ working situation.
3. Attention.
3.1. Only special technicians who has molds operation knowledge are allowed to dismantle the molds and do the maintenance jobs.
3.2. Safety is the first priority during the maintenance process.
3.3. Do not use rigid items to knock or open the molds.
3.4. Keep the molds in dry and ventilate warehouse.
3.5. Put the molds on wooden racks a little higher than the floor.
