The pressure oil
Sample of the pressure oil (around 100ml) should be taken and send to the professional laboratory for inspection and checking. If the pressure oil has gone bad, then which should be replaced.
For the new injection molding machine. The pressure oil should better be replaced within 3 months after working. Then, in the following years, the pressure oil can be replaced every one year. Often is better.
If the pressure oil has not been inspected in the laboratory for some reason, the we can take the following methods for inspection too.
1. Take pressure oil sample from the oil tank. Check the color of the oil, if the color turns into milky white, which means there may be air or water in the oil.
Then, we can put the pressure oil sample inside a normal temperature room, and we check it later in the other day. If the oil turns to be clear, which means there must be air mixed into the oil. And we should check the hydraulic device to see if the air is leaking and then fix it.
If the oil turns to be clear and there are sediment at the bottom of the cups, which means there are water inside the hydraulic device.
If the oil color is still milky white, which means the water has been mixed into the oil for a not-short time, and the pressure oil must be replaced.
Check all hydraulic device related parts, and try to find out the way by which the water can get into the oil.
Normally, it may be caused by the cracked cooling device.
2. Get a filter paper or a tissue paper, which can be used for checking the pressure oil too. Take some drops of the pressure oil on the paper. If there is water inside the oil, then the oil spot will spread very fast. Because pure oil can never spread in a fast way.
Then, you take a drop of new oil on the paper, to see how fast it spread, then compare it with the used oil, you can find out in a general way that how much percent water has been mixed into the oil.
3. Get a filter paper or a tissue paper, put some drops of used oil on the paper, let the oil be filtered. If the oil has gone bad or there are impurity solids inside the oil, then you can find black spot or solids sediment on the paper.
These are the simple way for checking the pressure oil.
It is better taking the sample pressure oil to the laboratory, and get it checked to find our the solutions.
