How to make PET bottles stronger?

For the water PET bottles, it is better we make it as strong as we can. The stronger bottle makes itself looks good quality and high grade . 

Normally, we have two ways to make the bottles stronger.
Way No.1:  Using heavier preforms, which makes stronger bottles but with one disadvantage, that is the higher cost on preforms.
Way No.2:  Making more rib reinforcement on the btotle surface.

Here is a picture for your reference:


We take the 18.9 liter water bottles for example. 
Normally, we use 700g, 730g , 750g, or even 780g preforms for the 18.9 liter water bottles. 
For the traditional bottle (the first one from the right hand direction from the picture), almost all of them are 750 grams. And  that one is 750 grams bottle too. 

And, the second bottle from the right hand direction on the picture is 700 grams.

But,the second one is stronger than the first one. Because the different surface design make them different. There are much more rib reinforcement on the surface of the second bottle, and the surface get more support point, then it is much stronger than the first one.

Let's do the math. 
(750-700)/750= 6.6%.
The cost of the preforms are based on the weight, which means the 700g bottle can save around 6.6% on the total amount. Then, you time the year's consumption, which saves a lot of money for the factories.
